Is it necessary to use the visual startup marker?

No, when using the electric starter the indicator light is useless.

Should the ignition be rescheduled when mounting the kit?

No, installation of the kit does not require ignition timing.

Is it necessary to remove the magnetic flywheel when assembling the kit?

No, if you are sure that the flywheel is in good condition and that it is mounted on the crankshaft, there is no need to dismantle it.

Must the valve lifter always be used when starting?

No, however, it is recommended to use it because it reduces the effort required of the starter motor and therefore consumes less battery power, increasing the life of the kit and the battery.

Can I charge the battery without removing it from the motorbike?

Yes, simply unplug the cable and connect the supplied charger in its place.

Does the XT 500 work without the 6-volt battery?

Yes, the ignition is independent of the battery circuit as it is powered by its own coil in the flywheel. Without a 6V battery the lights and horn do not work with the engine off.

Why is it advantageous to change your motorbike from 6 to 12V?

For two reasons; the lighting is greatly improved and the motorbike’s electrical circuit allows the lithium battery to be charged, making it autonomous.

Can I keep my battery already installed?

No, our lithium battery is calibrated for the XSTART. It has safety and balancing electronics that protect the charge in each cell. Moreover, the connector for the electrical power connection is specific. Any modification will result in the loss of the warranty.
